Curating and Sharing Information
@debseed shared her curation workflow in this Gliffy. Have you ever considered your workflow? Do you have a workflow where sharing is involved? Map out your current or ideal workflow using an online concept mapping tool (or other form of expression).
This week I took the time to explore a few different online tools for curating and presenting content. The tools I sampled were based on this list - The 50+ Best Ways to Curate and Share Your Favorite Social Media and News Content. One of the better tools was Storify. Storify allows users to curate social media posts from Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube etc. With the content presented on a page, this can then be shared. As far as educational application, I can see this being a useful tool in sharing content with colleagues or students. This is a user-friendly tool that students can pick up fairly easily In the past students might bring a newspaper clipping to discuss current events, this could be a way for students to gather live information as it is happening.
As far as workflow, this chart provides a helpful framework on which I will buid my personalized workflow. I have determined that my primary audiences would be the professional learning community, work colleagues and my students.
