Change within any organization is necessary to bring about growth and improvement. However, the implementation of change is not always easy due to a variety of challenges, including inadequate resources, motivation and direction. Administrators need to be equipped to understand the nature of change to strategically move an organization forward. A wealth of online tools exist that can advance teaching and learning experiences. School leadership may recognize the benefits and look to implement the use of these tools, but how do they bring about the adoption and long-term engagement with this technology for their teachers?
This assignment allowed me to focus on understanding the nature of change within an organization with respect to educational technology. As an administrator, enacting change is always tricky. A differentiated approach to professional development is suggested with the varying degrees of ability present in team. My research also suggests a team-based approach to change implementation by establishing clear roles on the team.
